The drive to Boston was relatively short and my goal was to get to three capitols today (because they were close together), so I started in New Hampshire early and got here by noon. (Having practiced at this capitol earlier in the year and previously made it easier.) Located in the heart of the city and across from the Boston Commons, this capitol building is very unique with a black rod iron fence, and capped with a bright dome made of copper and covered in 24 karat gold!
Lincoln references were abundant including a portrait of Abraham Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address in the reception area and a large bust in the main Senate Hearing Room. There’s something about the paintings and murals, flags and signs, the arches and columns, staircases and architecture that just makes me think of our country’s founding days and it exudes God and Country.
